  • Morning sky appears orange or light-colored.
  • Afternoon sky is bright and blue.
  • Night sky is dark with stars and the Moon.

The Sun

  • The Sun is the brightest object in the sky.
  • It gives us light and heat.
  • The Sun appears to:

    • Move overhead at noon

Shadows

  • A shadow is formed when an object blocks light.
  • Shadows:
    • Move with us
    • Change shape and size
  • Shadow Changes During the Day:
    • Morning: Long shadows

Shadows and Time

  • In ancient times, people used shadows to tell time.
