एक लड़की ने आम के पेड़ पर लटका हुआ पका आम देखा। उसके मुँह में पानी भर आया। वहीँ, सामनेके पेड़ पर बैठा एक कौआ भी ललचाई नजरों से इस आम को देख रहा था।
लड़की ने अपने भाई को बुलाया और गुलेल से उस पके हुए आम को पेड़ से तोड़ने के लिए कहा। लड़की के भाई ने गुलेल से आम पर निशाना लगाया। आम पेड की डाली से नीचे गिरने लगा।
तभी कहानी एक रोचक मोड़ ले लेती है। गिरता हुआ आम कौए की चोंच से मधुमक्खियों के छत्ते से कौए के घोंसले से गिलहरी के मुँह से होते हुए आदमी की पगड़ी से होते हुए लड़की को मिला।
लड़की बहुत खुश हो गई। लड़का भी अपनी गुलेल को देखकर बहुत खुश हो रहा था।
